Edward V. Sapone featured lecturer at Second Circuit Criminal Law Roundup

On May 13, 2021, Edward V. Sapone was a featured lecturer at Richard Levitt’s annual Second Circuit Criminal Law Roundup sponsored by the New York Criminal Bar Association and Marino Legal. Ed’s lecture was entitled The Federal Trial Penalty, and was attended by hundreds of Federal and NY State criminal defense lawyers. Mr. Sapone explained ways in which criminal defendants are penalized by lengthy sentences when they exercise their 6th Amendment right to a trial. More importantly, he walked the participants through the various ways to fight back and avoid the penalty while educating them on cutting-edge federal appellate and U.S. District Court caselaw and statutory authority.
